OK I know I've done a ton of blog entries today due to the PBFH (no the drive isn't working in my system- Yet) but I ran across a plesent distraction. This column, and even more specificaly this picture and the piece about it. And now that you've looked at the photo without lookingat the part refering to it, yes that is an Apple ADB mouse with 2 buttons and no its not a recase.

I can just hear those of you who don't have a USB mac and don't want to find a multi button ADB mouse, you're saying "Wow, how do I do that" The answer is "Not with a Mitsumi based model". After reading it I dug up a couple of my "soap bar" mice and ripped them apart. Unfortunatly for me I had two Mitsumi OEMs and after some probing around I could only get the single button to work. I suspect that the logitech models are the ones being refered to but I'd have to find one in my collection and test that. Still its a very cool idea.

OK I didn't decided to update to OS 9.2.1 and went ahead setting the monitor setting to NTSC on my Canon display then reistalled the established drive into the PBFH. Now to see if I can get it to boot in the PBFH...

Scratch that, I now have video out. Now to upgrade to 9.2.1 or not to upgrade to 9.2.1

Justy finished upgrading to 9.1, not quite the 5 PM guess I gave earlier. AFAIK video mirroring isn't working yet.

I feel like Case or some other Gibson hacking hero saying this but "I'm in"

Yep, I finaly managed to get into the drive of R2-D2 or as I call it the PBFH. I'm backing up the drive right now and will be wiping the drive shortly. Updates have been made in my dedicated sections but piece by piece progress will go right in here. My current ETA for wearable ready CPU is 1 hour, 18 minutes (5 PM EST)

Forget The Second Coming of Steve Jobs, isn't this a sign of The Second Coming of Newton?

Notice the history on the guy, every Mac favorable OS on earth, except *nix. Then again *nix is the Mac OS.

I hate money problems, I found a sweet deal on a Twiddler 1, as I mentioned yesterday, off of eBay. Made even sweeter by a Buy It Now price well below the going rate of the other recently finished Twiddler on eBay. Unfortunatly I can't use a credit card at the moment and had to pass on the auction. And it finished and It wasn't by me. So I don't have a twiddler and I'm kicking my self over how low it went for. Oh well Live and learn right?

What is it about late night, I mean I do more after others go to sleep than I do when everyone else is awake. Oh well another idea for another time. What I really want to post is that I'm considering an upgrade to Blogger Pro Wish I wasn't straped for cash at the moment. It looks good and as its bundled with Ad-Free BlogSpot hosting I really see benifits, mainly that it would fit in with the rest of my site.

Furthermore I've been watching some TV as most of my usual Wendsday night brain killers were in repeats. Guess its for the better as I watched a great move called The Flight of the Phoenix on AMC.

Lastly theres an issue of a Twiddler One, but I'll wait until thats resolved before posting. Same deal as the trades I'm always workin on.

Now off to sleep!

And for those of you who though the US's redesigned $20s looked like Monopoly Money before, Look again

Or how US bills met Technicolor and learned to hate federal reserve green.

Today (or I guess yesterday was a good day) I can safely say that I did a grand amount of nothing all day. Or at least something similar to doing nothing. Grammar is something but I mean it was easy, plus I was doing it with some Celtic/Jazz fusion playing that I really should have gotten the name of. All in all a good day. Plus there was an amazing episode of 24 on, I'm almost supprised they (edited for spoilers) with the war on Iraq fast approching. Anyways I;m going to make a couple more posts here for the sake of having a few things and then I plan to sleep.

Its amazing how much more confident someone can be from a move, I swear, since I've moved I've been entered in two different type of competitions as well as got involved with a couple of groups. I mean, usualy I got drafted for that sort of stuff but hey, I'm already at a state level in two of the groups. Plus one of them is getting me out of school for two days- to play with computers. I mean how good is it when they send you to a competition to play with computers and you've got a couple of hardware trades working in your favor? Still I want a Metcal for SMD work and a couple upgrades for the Phoenix

Anyways I'm going to go do some more hack planning (I have a few that whould be very nice if I do them) and then get some sleep.

I hate it when someone says "Can I have a minute" and then take an hour. I couldn't bid on a Twiddler 1 for my wearable because I was kind enough to let someone use the computer for "Just a minute" and then ended up loosing by 20 minutes, where the auction had 45 minutes left when I let them on. And to think they call me "Dictator of the computer" around here. >:(

I had this idea yesterday, noticing that I still had a couple of cell phones from a previous service from before I moved and remembered that one of the most amazing Hacks I've seen was Aurora 8260 done by the amazing Dr. Bob. While I doubt I'm insane enough to do his LED mod on a new phone a couple of old phones and some LEDs would be good. Besides they are the old models that don't allow face plates and ring tones, not that I want that. So the plan would be change the LEDs to blue with some 0603 packege LEDs and paint the plastics with Hammered Black rustolium. Maybe a glossy clear coat over that and I've got a phone thats 100% unique. This could be fun- besides I always need an excuse for more electronics stuff.

Phew, managed to find an external pack I got with my Newt 120 and thankful it was charged, tho' the newt scared me for a minute when it wouldn't boot. Theres a reason places like This Old Newt are around.

Why is it that there are never enough AA's around? My Newton won't power up and I don't have any stinking AAs.
